The level of abstraction in test code should match that of the system being tested
For example, when writing system-level tests today, you should not leave practical details (low abstraction) in the test cases (high abstraction). Doing so not only harms readability but also undermines the responsibility of the test document itself (to describe the expected behavior of the system).
This idea applies to all levels of testing: system level, component level, unit level… As for how to conceptualize whether the tests have the correct level of abstraction?
